Seat Safety
About 90 percent of child car seats in Yorkton are improperly installed. That’s why each year, Yorkton Fire Protective Services offers a free drive-through child car seat clinic for parents, teaching anyone who stops by how to properly install and use the seats. The clinic draws about 20 cars each year, but its main purpose is to bring attention to the free car seat training offered to anyone, year-round, who drops by the station. Pictured: firefighter Shane Lafontaine shows Tracy Gabriel how to properly adjust the seat for her daughter Ava at this year’s clinic at the station on June 19.
