PROVIDING SUPPORT THE UNITED WAY

Battlefords United Way handed out $103,000 worth of cheques to their funded partners last week at their offices in North Battleford. Non-profit organizations from around the region received cheques from Mira Laprell-Elliott (executive director) and Monte Migneault (chair). Among those accepting the cheques were Colleen Sabraw from Battlefords Early Childhood Intervention Program ($3000), Annette McGovern of Portage Vocational Society Inc. ($5,000), Ashley Balysky of St. John Ambulance ($2,500), Sheri Woolridge of Battlefords Boys and Girls Club ($30,000), Greg Lightfoot from Catholic Family Services ($15,000), Al Farrell of CNIB (Saskatoon)($4,000), Erin Katerynych of Battlefords and District Food and Resource Centre ($6,000), Don Amos and Mona Leece of BTEC ($10,000) and Julie Huestis, Teresa Michayluk and Erin Redekop of the Battlefords Sexual Assault Centre ($15,000). Also receiving funds were CMHA ($10,000) and the Red Cross ($2,500).
