CALDER

The Legion had a poetry writing contest in November 2011, Renee Walker placed 3rd in the intermediate category and Melanie McDermott placed 2nd in the junior category.

Taylor Dietrich will soon become a published author with her short story “Why Pigs Have Curly Tails?” Taylor’s story will be in the next edition of Young Saskatchewan Writers Publication.

Congratulations to Taylor Dietrich, Renee Walker and Melanie McDermott, job well done. All the students do a very good job at the Calder School.

The Calder Seniors held their whist drive on March 19, 2012 at the Good Neigbour Centre. Here are the winners of the whist drive: 1st Peter Wereshuk, 2nd Virginia Wandy, 3rd Marlene Balabuk, and low went to Jim Fustey. Pots of Gold winners were Donna Fustey and Peter Wereshuk.

Sympathy goes out to Patsy and Barry Klem on the recent passing of Mrs. Martenik.
