Don Taylor, the Reeve of the RM of Saltcoats presented a cheque for $1,000 to Ross Fisher, Executive Director of The Health Foundation, to help fund planning and preparations for a new regional hospital. “Our council understands that good healthcare is a necessity for most of us attaining a long and enjoyable lifespan. The current hospital has served us well for many years but the time has come to start planning for a replacement. A new modern regional hospital with help retain specialists, doctors and nurses who wish to practice in one of the fastest growing regions in Saskatchewan. It will also make it much easier to recruit new doctors to our region,” said Reeve Don Taylor. “We are very grateful for the assistance of the RM of Saltcoats. Clearly we will need the support of the whole region to move forward with a new regional hospital, and it is very encouraging to have communities come forward with their support like this,” said Ross Fisher.
