Marion Joyce  Age 82 years. Joyce “Z” Stokes passed away April 5, 2012 in Esterhazy with her family at her side. She was born in Nokomis, SK on April 3, 1930. Her family moved to Regina where she attended Scott Collegiate. In her young years, she enjoyed watching all of the sports her brothers participated in. She met Fred Stokes and married him on October 11, 1952 in Regina. She started her married life with Fred on their farm north of Dubuc, SK. and loved their life together there for 37 years. She will always be a loyal and proud member of the Rebekah Lodge, where she enjoyed a term as Saskatchewan President. She loved watching and participating in her kid’s activities including 4-H, swimming, ball and hockey. She was very supportive in all their endeavors. She had a great love and quiet pride in raising their 3 children. She loved gardening, cooking and being involved in the community, especially curling. After Fred’s passing in 1989, she moved to Yorkton and lived there until 2002. Inspired during a hill climb at Shed Horn, Round Lake, she decided she had one more dream to realize and built a beautiful home overlooking the lake and valley. She lived there near family, friends, and nature until her passing. She was predeceased by her parents Gordon and Bessie Raymond, mother-in-law Elsie Stokes, husband Frederick Stokes, brother Gordon Raymond, brothers-in-law Herman Baade and Bill Stokes,  sisters-in-law Jessie Stokes and Doris MacKinnon, grandson Michael Abood, and nephews Reg Raymond and David Stokes. Feeling pretty sad right now are her children Craig (Karen) Stokes, Barb (Dave) Siebert, Ray (Sandi) Stokes; grandchildren Riley (Denae) Woytas, Jesse Stokes, Scott Woytas, Fuji Stokes (Sarah Petrie), Bruce Stokes, Avery (Jill) Abood, Ashley (Jeff) Lazurko, Adam Stokes; and one great grandchild Brynne Woytas; sister Lorraine Baade and brother Ken (Phyllis) Raymond; numerous nieces and nephews.
