Aquadeo Beach is a resort village located on Highway 4 North at the north end of Jackfish Lake.
It is inhabited by approximately 200 year round residents and triple that in the summer months. Over the past few years, there have been several new homes and cottages built.
The community has a nine hole, grass green golf course and an up to the date club house overlooking the lake. It features a large patio overlooking No.1 tee off.
There is also a boat launch and marina, a man-made swimming pool, a hotel and tavern, a volunteer fire department and a new community hall.
The Aquadeo Community Recreation Association maintains the hall. The association has approximately 60 members. The organization became a recreation board in 2002.
In early June a welcome back to the lake supper and dance is hosted. Also in June members are kept busy setting up for the annual garage sale. Pancake breakfast donations for the garage sale are gratefully accepted. Call 386-2434 or 386-2276 for information.
Approximately 500 are served breakfast and the garage sale is always popular.
Last year the board hosted a craft show and bake sale. The response was great. Call 386-2434 or 386-2276 to reserve a table.
This year the group hosts its third fall supper that serves between 400 and 500 people.
In September an annual golf tournament is hosted. It’s a fun day for all and everyone gets a prize.
In addition to these functions, the association members work bingos, sell firewood and do catering. The hall is available for rent by contacting the village office at 386-2942.
All these activities are completed by volunteers and all proceeds go towards the hall.
Volunteers seldom get paid not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless.
Come and see where the residents of Aquadeo live and enjoy a visit to a small community of which the residents are proud.
