STEEL, RAYMOND

STEEL, RAYMOND ; The passing of Raymond Noble Steel of Rural Battleford occurred May 17, 2012 at the age of 65 years. Surviving are his children Wendy, Rayann both of Battleford and Dwayne of Wilkie, two grandchildren Masen and Shalin; his brothers Delbert (Marie) of Mayerthorpe, Alberta, Stuart (Pam) of North Battleford; his sisters Micky Dillon of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Dora (Steven) Emershaw of Scranton, Pennsylvania. He was predeceased by his parents, his former wife Sharon, his brother Tommy, his sister Verna and his granddaughter Amy. Ray was born in North Battleford where he grew up and spent all his life. He was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed sports and especially his farm. Ray will be remembered for his team of Clydesdale horses which he worked for many years. His declining health forced him to be less active in his farm but his enthusiasm at seeding and harvest was always present. The Funeral Services were held Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from Sallows and McDonald - Wilson and Zehner Funeral Chapel conducted by Mrs. Joyce Salie. His interment took place in the family plot at Rockhaven Cemetery. The Honorary pallbearers were: Doug Mann, Eddie Scotton, Keith Hoffman, and Tony Schmidt. The Active pallbearers were: Buzz Brown, Merton Brown, Sheldon Brown, Guy Steel, Jerry Snyder and Brad Hoffman. Memorial donations to the Saskatchewan Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
