LANE — Sharon

SHARON LANE

Sharon Lane was born in Craik, SK on July 21, 1947, the daughter of Theodore and Eunice Spencer. Soon after her birth, the family relocated to Penzance, SK. As a young girl, Sharon was involved in CGIT, enjoyed playing with her siblings and helping on the family farm. In 1967, Sharon began a fulfilling and rewarding teaching career. Sharon began her teaching career in Chamberlain, SK and after many memorable years, retired from the Good Spirit School Division in June 2007. Sharon always said her students taught her more about the important things in life than what she taught them. Sharon married her childhood sweetheart, Phil Lane on July 6, 1968. Together they were blessed with three children, Lisa Anne, Pamela Sharon and Jason Philip. Sharon and Phil raised their children on an acreage just outside of Yorkton and created many memories with their grandchildren; Michael, Jayden, Kaitlin, Olivia and Lane. Sharon will be remembered for her kind and generous nature, the impact she made in the education of children’s lives, and for being the strong and constant pillar in her family. Sharon was predeceased by her loving husband, Phil Lane, and her parents Theodore and Eunice Spencer. Sharon leaves to mourn her passing her two daughters; Lisa Friesen (Corey) and Pamela (Mike) Naylor; her son Jason (Jen) Lane; her grandchildren, Michael, Jayden, Kaitlin, Olivia and Lane. Sharon is also survived by her brother Garry (Ruth) Spencer and her two sisters Elaine (Hugh) Huber and Lorna Spencer as well as numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, other relatives and many good friends. A Memorial Service was held on Friday, July 27, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from Westview United Church, Yorkton, SK with Rev. Faye Greer officiating. The organist, Laurene Jemieff led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, “ Just A Closer Walk With Thee”, “In The Garden” and “Amazing Grace”. Garry Spencer gave tribute to his sister in eulogy. Michael Naylor and Jayden Friesen served as urnbearers. A private family interment service will take place at a later date. Friends so wishing may forward their condolences to the family by visiting www.christiesfuneralhome.com.
