Developmental regatta coming

The Yorkton Canoe and Kayak Club (YCKC) turns its focus to hosting the Developmental Regatta on Aug. 18, at York Lake Regional Park.

“This Regatta is geared towards new and developing paddlers, introducing them to the world of competing in a fun and safe environment” says Jessica Riley of YCKC.

“Beginner paddlers from Saskatchewan will have a chance to make new friendships, develop sportsmanship, and become excited about competing next year.”

It has given the paddlers role models to look up to.

Many Sprint Canoe/Kayak Olympian athletes got their start at developmental clubs like YCKC.

We are proud to cheer our Canadian team on.”

New members are always welcome at YCKC as their recreational program runs until October.

Also YCKC is looking for volunteers to help run the Developmental Regatta on Aug. 18.
