The Health Foundation Charity Road Race is coming up on Aug. 19. Race day entries will not be accepted. Money raised from the event will go towards the purchase of medical equipment for the health region. Included in the day are numerous races, says race director Ross Fisher. New for this year is the 1/2 marathon which takes runners from the Yorkton Regional High School to the far east end of town. All runners should pick up race kits from Sport Mart on Aug. 18. Fisher said they are still accepting entries.

Stanley Cup

Jarret Stoll and his family will be celebrating the LA Kings Stanley Cup victory with the community on Aug. 16. There will be a parade down Broadway Str., starting at 2 p.m., said parade co-ordinator Penny Sandercock. The parade will start at the corner of Darlington and Sixth Avenue. It will proceed west to the Gallagher Centre and will disburse into the parking lot. All parade entries must be received ahead of time. Parade directors will be on site to place entries in order and monitor the parade. Anyone wishing more information should contact Sandercock at 782-6456. See related story on this page. Added to the agenda is an autograph signing session to take place Wednesday at the Liquor Control Board Yorkton location from 2-3 p.m.
