Access Communications to broadcast Junior hockey schedule

Have no fear, hockey fans! Access7 is teaming up with the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) and the Western Hockey League (WHL) to broadcast a jam-packed schedule of hockey this season. SJHL games will regularly air live on Thursday nights at 7:30 p.m., while broadcasts of WHL games will air throughout the week on Access7 (check your listing for details).

As negotiations between the NHL and its players continue to fizzle, an actual season is looking more and more unlikely. This has left fans of the sport wondering where to turn for a fix of the good old game.

“With the NHL lockout now a certainty, hockey fans are looking for something to fill that void,” said Wade Peterson, Community Programming Manager for Access7. “Look no further, because we’ve got a full slate of Saskatchewan’s best hockey to last through the winter months right here on Access7.”

Between the end of September and February, Access7 will air 22 SJHL games — the majority of them live. From La Ronge to Estevan and everywhere in between, SJ diehards will have plenty of opportunities to catch their team in action, complete with commentary from A7 Sports duo Mike Stackhouse and Jay Boyd.
