Water line replacement approved

The City will construct another new water line to facilitate the upgrades to the City of Yorkton’s water treatment system and accommodate the irrigation of the sporting fields.

The work “requires replacement of an 85 year old well line located on Logan Green,” said Michael Buchholzer, Director of Environmental Services with the City.

A tender was let, with the recommendation to award the contract to the low bidder, G. Unger Construction Co. Ltd. for a lump sum of $263,303.08. It is also recommended to include a contingency of $26,696.92 which results in an overall budget of $290,000, said Buchholzer.

Yorkton Council unanimously approved the work Monday.

This contract will be funded by the Canada Building Funds grant.
