Preparing York Colony Phase II

Yorkton Council unanimously approved funding to complete preliminary and detailed engineering work on Phase II of York Colony.

“The sales of lots in riverside Meadows Phase II in 2012 means that the city needs to look at its next area for residential development,” detailed a report to Council from Gord Shaw, Director of Planning & Engineering.

Phase II would create 60 single-family lots, as well as space for multi-family units.

“In order to do this work, it is important that a larger area for servicing is contemplated than just the study area. The reason for doing so is that it is important to know areas downstream of the proposed development can be serviced with the same pipe network being proposed for Phase II,” said Shaw.

This project will be funded through the Land Reserve. No estimate is available at this time for the construction cost of this project. A preliminary cost will be available as work on the detailed design is finalized, detailed the report.

The cost of the work, to be carried out by Associated Engineering is $220,000.
