The YRHS senior boys volleyball team brought home a first-place finish from a tournament this past weekend in Estevan, reports YRHS coach Dion Pfeifer.
Yorkton went 4-0 through their round robin matches.
“We beat Estevan 2-1 in an exciting match,” he said.
They went to the quarter final where they won 2-0 then knocked off Oxbow in three sets in the semi final, says Pfeifer.
That sent Yorkton to the final game where they played against Winston Knoll. Yorkton fell 25-19 in the opening set but won even tighter sets by scores of 26-24 and the third by 25-23.
Setter Daniel Mandziuk and middle hitter Ben Redl both had “very good weekends”, notes Pfeifer, adding that it was a “great confidence booster moving forward”.
The YRHS is hosting their weekend tournament on Nov. 2-3.
