Diane and Marv Horachek had her brother, Harvey of Swan Hills, AB and her sister, Myrna of Sherwood Park, AB visiting from Monday to Friday. Dad, Vic Arnott, came for a visit from Saltcoats via Yorkton and made supper for everyone Friday nite…delicious KFC. Harvey and Myrna attended the Community Potluck Supper for October while they were here.
Jean (nee Franson) Anderson Sawchuk passed away at the St. Paul Lutheran Care Home in Melville on Oct. 6 just a few weeks short of her 100th birthday. She grew up, married and raised her family in the Round Lake district atop the Qu’appelle Valley. She was predeceased by her first husband, Elof Anderson in 1979. Sympathy to those who mourn her passing: her husband, John Sawchuk; her only children, daughters, Martha and Bernice, and all their family members. Condolences also from Dubuc and Community to all the extended Franson-Anderson-Sawchuk families and Jean’s many friends. Rev. Susan Griffith of the United Church led a service of celebration for her life on Oct. 13 at the New Stockholm Lutheran Church followed by a luncheon. Interment was in the Stockholm Village Cemetery.
Congratulations and welcome back to our Village Council: Marvin Horachek was reinstated as Mayor, Dennis Toth and Cara Naylor both returned as councillors and Joan Kerr continues to serve as the administrator.

They picked a good day as Brenda Duchek treated everyone to coffee and chocolate birthday cake to celebrate her upcoming birthday on Sunday. Thanks, Brenda, and best wishes for a happy, happy year.
