SOLOMON - Terry Glenn William


TERRY SOLOMON

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Terry Glenn William Solomon of Parkerview, SK on Saturday, October 13, 2012. Terry was born on August 24, 1957 in Yorkton, Sask. to Louis and Katherine Solomon (nee Machuik). Terry grew up on the family farm and attended Parkerview School from grades 1-5 then Hubbard School till grade nine, he graduated grade twelve from Ituna. Terry worked around home until 1979 when he moved to Williams Lake, BC, where he spent 23 years, working for West Frazer Lumber company. During his time in Williams Lake he met and married Laura Jelley, through this union of love a daughter, Corissa Dawn was born on May 17, 1986 and twin sons Bryan and Matthew, born on January 19, 1988. Many fond memories were made with his children while fishing, camping at Tyee Lake and working in his shop at home on his motorcycle and projects for his kids. In the spring of 1998, Terry returned to Saskatchewan where he worked for a short time with a custom harvesting company that took him through the mid western United States. He returned home to work with G. Unger Construction of Theodore until his passing. In 2010 Terry proudly walked his daughter down the aisle in a beautiful ceremony in the Okanogan Valley of BC. Shortly after in December of 2011, Terry was given the gift of his first grandchild, Jacob. Terry had a lifelong love of motorcycles and outdoor activities. He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, movies and popcorn with family and friends. He especially looked forward to phone calls with his children. Terry was a generous man with many talents. A short time spent but every moment cherished, he will never be replaced in our hearts and thoughts. He was predeceased by his parents, Louis (1987) and Katherine (2009). He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by daughter Corissa (Ben) Jones and grandson Jacob of Grand Prairie, AB, sons Bryan of Kamloops, BC., and Matthew of Vancouver, BC. Brother Barney (Theresa) of Ituna, Darryl (Lorna) of Spruce Grove, AB and sister Sandra (Don) Monastyrski of Goodeve. Numerous nieces and nephews, Amber Lee (Rob), TerriLean (Jamie), John (Renee)Lindsay, Trisha (Rob) Keirn, Ashley, Brendan and Dawn as well as many aunts, uncles and friends. The Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, October 20, 2012 from St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church in Yorkton with Rev. Father Francis Hengen as Celebrant. The crossbearer was Rob Skibinsky. Pianist, Katherine Flaman led members of St. Gerard's Parish Choir and the congregation in the singing of the hymns 'On Eagles Wings', Psalm 63, 'The Lord's My Shepherd', 'Rest in Peace', 'Song of the Angels' and 'Day is Done'. The interment took place at St. Elizabeth's RC Cemetery, Parkerview. Sons Bryan and Matthew were the urnbearers. Arrangements were in care of Bailey's Funeral Home.
