Season services

Christmas day may be a holiday for most, but there are still those who seek food and fuel services on Dec. 25.

“We’ll be getting information requests before Christmas,” said Yorkton Tourism manager Randy Goulden. She said they traditionally start getting email and Facebook enquiries a few days before the 25th asking “what is open for service stations and restaurants.”

Goulden said it is usually a case of people coming to the city to visit family who are in long term care facilities, or hospital, so they need a place to eat, and to get gas.

In terms of food services Goulden said among tourism members the Legends Restaurant (Painted Hand Casino) will be open Noon to 10 p.m., Robin’s Donuts and Deli will be open all day until 10 p.m., and the Sunrise Cafe in the Yorkton and District Nursing Home at 200 Bradbrooke Drive.

For fuel servies, Heartland Fuel PetroCan and Kahkewistahaw Gas and CStore are both opens 24-hours, and Super C Esso from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., reported Goulden.
