The Yorkton Terriers are celebrating their 40th anniversary in Junior Hockey. Over the course of the season Yorkton This Week will be providing vignettes looking at the proud heritage of the team through the eyes of those who have stood behind the bench in the past four decades as head coaches of the Terriers. This is the 11th in the series.

What years did you coach in Yorkton?

Coached 1974/75 Yorkton Terrier Junior 'A'. Great sports town, terrific fans, wonderful place to live and raise a family.

Who was the best Terrier you coached? Why?

Barry Marianchuk was one of the best players I ever coached. Great all around player and person!

Is there a particular game which stands out in your memory? Explain why that game is memorable.

First game of the year, in Yorkton against Melville and coach Gerry James. Beat them 2-1.

Did you coach after Yorkton? Where?

No, moved to Winnipeg.

Where do you live today? What do you do?

Live in Sandy Lake MB. Great little town, good place to retire to. Still work part time for a Winnipeg company as a sales rep.
