Terrier dinner tickets available

Tickets are still available for this year’s Yorkton Sportsman Dinner.

This year’s event will be held Friday, Feb. 8, said Dave Baron one of the event organizers.

The keynote speakers are Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League president Bill Chow, and former Saskatchewan Roughrider Scott Schultz.

Baron said the Roughriders are always a popular topic of discussion in the city, and Schultz should offer some interesting insights into the team. He said they will be asking Schultz for “some stories from his playing days”, and then for some comments on the current Riders, and what he expects from them.

Baron said the annual supper is a fundraiser for the Terriers, but is also an event in February to help keep interest in the team rolling as the SJHL rolls toward the playoffs.

Included in the fundraising effort will be a number of hockey-related auctions including a Jonathan Toews jersey, Anze Kopitar stick, and Dion Phaneuf and Drew Doughty art prints.

Tickets for the supper are $50 per person, or a table for $350 ($400 if you want a Terrier at your table), and those are limited. You can get tickets by calling Baron at 783-9332, or email at daba...@sasktel.net
