SLOWSKI - Kathleen (Cathy) Euginia Pauline

KATHLEEN SLOWSKI

Kathleen (Cathy) Euginia Pauline Slowski,  aged 64, a local resident of the Yorkton area, died peacefully at her home with her beloved family by her side on February 9, 2013 after an arduous battle with breast cancer. A Private Family Memorial Service was held from the Chapel of  Christie's Funeral Home in Yorkton, SK on Friday, February, 15, 2013 with Father Rodion Luciuk officiating. The Interment Service followed in the Yorkton Memorial Gardens, Yorkton, SK. Cathy was born in Canora, SK to John and Ethel Strozen and moved to Yorkton after marriage to find employment at Sask Tel, the Yorkton Regional Health Centre and finally long-term employment at the Yorkton and District Nursing Home where she worked as a Senior Nursing Assistant until early retirement. Her interests included family, cooking, gardening and sewing. She devoted herself to her daughters and granddaughter who shared great joy and happiness through life. She had a kind and gentle soul, a great sense of humour, a hard working ethic and an enormous loving heart. Cathy is survived by her 3 daughters: Candice Tracy, Jodie Slowski and Carrie Sobkow, her granddaughter Cassidy Noelle Sobkow and her son-in-laws, Shane Law and Jason Sobkow. Although Cathy's life was brief and her journey involved some painful lessons, it too was brimming with love and…what is loved is never lost it simply lasts forever. Condolences may be sent to PO Box 491, Yorkton, Saskatchewan, S3N 2W4. Donations may be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, www.cbcf.org. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Christie's Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yorkton, Saskatchewan.
