A big thank you to the Macnutt Light Horse 4H club for a great job that they did on their Quad Derby that was held in May.
The Calder Playschool graduation was held on April 24, 2013 at the Calder Parkland Regional Library. The students which will be heading to kindergarten this year are Kassidi Antony, Katrina Raml and Dexter Walker. The other students that attended playschool this year were Layla Rapchalk, Hannah Baumung and Heidi Andres.
We are looking for new students for the upcoming Playschool year. Playschool will start in the middle of Sept. to the end of April. If you know someone who would like to attend please phone 306-742-2167. At playschool we do crafts, play games, healthy lunches and story time. Playschool is for your child to interact with other children.
The Calder students have been busy doing some track and field meets. Good luck to all the students who take part in these events.
The Calder Yalenka Dance Club has wrapped up for the year. The Club took part in Kalyna Dance Club Competition in Yorkton. The Calder Club did very well.
The Calder Yalenka Dance Club held their spring Concert at the Calder Community Hall. The hall was filled with family, community members and friends. The spring concert was very good.
The Calder Yalenka Dance Club would like to thank all who brought their raffle tickets and congrats to all the winners.

The Calder Senior Centre has been busy with their Whist Drives.
The Calder Seniors held their invitational whist drive, here are the winners, Fern Goetz of Langenburg, Theresa Valberg of Churchbridge, Anne Mostoway of Calder, Gordon Kahut of Calder, Jim Fustey of Calder took low.
Door Prize winners were Grant Fandrey of Yorkton and the Pot of Gold was Eveyln Antony of Calder and Norman Wozney of Calder.
The raffle prizes went to: Virginia Wandy of Calder, Grant Fandrey of Yorkton, Irene Scherloski of Langenburg, Lil Wozney of Calder, Edna Becker of Kamsack, Carline Sveinbjornson of Churchbridge, Ewald Hautz of Langenburg, Marie Rohatensky of Calder, Elmer Eftoda of Calder, and Myla Daviduk of Churchbridge.
Here are some of the other whist drive winners that where held at the Calder Good Neighbour Centre. Mildred Danylko, Elmer Eftoda, Marie Rohatensky, Judy Pryslak took low. The pot of gold winners were Peter Wereschuk and Judy Pryslak.
The Calder Rec Board would like to thank everyone who came out to help serve lunch at the Tony Rohatensky Sale.
The Calder Slow Pitch Team has started to play some slow pitch games here. All home games are on every second Wednesday. Everyone is welcome to come out and cheer on our local team.
Family Movie night is held on the second Sunday of the month. Everyone is welcome to come out, it is free to get in, popcorn, pop are available to buy. Family movie night is held at the Calder Community Hall, doors open at 6:30, movie starts at seven. Family movie night isn’t just for young children, it is for all ages. So come out one night and watch a movie with us. Movie is over by 8:30. So we hope to see you there. Just try it once.
The Calder Library is open on Monday and Wednesday from 12:00 to 4:00. New blocks have been arriving, so hope to see you come out and take out a new book.
The Calder Students and Staff only have a few weeks of school left. Hope you all have great summer holidays and see you in the fall.
Jacalyn Molnar, Kendra Bailey and Tyler Eftoda graduated from the Yorkton Regional High School this year. Margie Mankish and her daughter Donna motored out to Dryden, ON to attend Donna’s daughter, Ashley’s graduation.
