The “Stars” are shining brightly on the prairie horizon as the Yorkton Arts Council brings you another season of “Stars For Saskatchewan” beginning on September 18!
The Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils (OSAC) along with its member Arts Council, the Yorkton Arts Council are proud to present “Memory Lane: A Tribute to the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s featuring Stephen Maguire”. This exuberant performance will kick off the 2013-2014 “Stars For Saskatchewan” concert series in Yorkton on Wednesday, September 18 at 8:00 p.m. in the Anne Portnuff Theatre, Yorkton Regional High School.
Memory Lane has audiences “dancin’ in the aisles and singin’ along” to all the classics from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s, from artists like Buddy Holly, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, Roy Orbison, Glenn Miller, Doris Day, The Platters, The Beatles and many more. The eight piece band is fronted by Irish born Stephen Maguire who has been named one of CBC Saskatchewan’s Future 40.
This concert is the first of nine rich and varied “Stars For Saskatchewan” performances that will grace the stage of the Anne Portnuff Theatre at the Yorkton Regional High School this season. The Yorkton Arts Council strives to bring in a selection of artists that offer “something for everyone”, with the opportunity to broaden and enhance the enjoyment of a wide spectrum of performing arts. Nothing can replace the excitement of live performances!
Some of the performers are familiar to the audience; others are new delights that are waiting to be discovered. All the performers have achieved recognition and stature in their particular genres of music, and will make the 2013-2014 “Stars For Saskatchewan” concert series very special!
