Lady Saints win bronze in Esterhazy

In the first game of the Esterhazy tournament the Saints came out strong and took a quick lead over Moosomin.

They were able to maintain that lead throughout the game finishing with a 65-35 victory. The leading scorers for the Saints were Morgan Shymanski 28, Corin Heim 16 and Hanna Hansen 10.  The win meant the Lady Saints went to the semi-finals.

In the semi-finals the Saints came up against a strong Kamsack team that played good, strong  defence and were shooting very well.  Shymanski and Heim were once again the leading scorers but the Saints could not keep up to Kamsack resulting in a 57-33 loss. The loss meant that the Saints were headed into the Consolation final against Langenburg.

Once again the Lady Saints came out quick and were able to get the lead and pull away with a strong performance to win the bronze game 60-28. Leading scorers were Shymanski with 22, Heim with 20 and Kendra Varjassy with 9.

The Saints will now host Roblin on Wednesday, December 18 for an exhibition game before taking off for the Christmas break.
