The Art of  Revolution - April 14 to May 24, 2014 - Godfrey Dean Art Gallery is presenting a timely exhibition of posters that were used during the early stages of the EuroMaidan protests in Kyiv, Ukraine. Designed and created for mass distribution through the medium of the private printer, they testify to a deep desire for change and are symbolic of the best impulses of a society mobilizing in its own defense. A selection of 50 posters plus commentary are on exhibit, organized by the Prairie Centre for the Study of Ukrainian Heritage in Saskatoon. It’s the final concert of the 2013-2014 “Stars for Saskatchewan” concert series, and it will be a dynamic end to the year! The Yorkton Arts Council is so happy to present “Everything Fitz” on Tues., May 6 at 8:00 p.m. in the Anne Portnuff Theatre, Yorkton Regional High School. Everything Fitz is a six piece family band featuring four of Canada’s finest young musicians and their parents. With roots in the Canadian old-time fiddle tradition and Ottawa Valley step dancing, their unique show combines a variety of musical styles! Spring Concert, Sacred Heart High School - Theatre,  Sun., May 4, 3:00 p.m. The show will feature the Yorkton Community Concert Band under the direction of Larry Pearen and Brennan Risling with Sacred Heart High School band students under the direction of Linda Sogbetun. Special guests include Regina’s Prairie Winds Concert Band under the direction of Robert L. Mossing and Jane Pinch. Musical selections will feature trumpet and bassoon soloists with band accompaniment, concert marches, and well know movie themes. Admission at the door: Children Free.
