Takin' it to the streets

A new group calling itself Rediscover Downtown, mostly centred around Second Avenue merchants, held a Summer Festival Saturday to draw people back to the core of the city.

 - -

Second Avenue was closed to traffic and the vendors moved their merchandise outdoors.

 - -

The event, sponsored by the Yorkton Business Improvement District featured a giant bouncy castle, various types of food, buskers, bands and a Farmer’s market across the street at City Centre Park.

In between bouts of rain, a good turnout of visitors young and old and in between enjoyed fun and shopping in the sun.
