REGINA - A four-year-old girl who was the subject of an Amber Alert in Saskatchewan has been found unharmed and her father has been arrested.

Regina police said they found Storm Slippery late Thursday afternoon, just hours after the Amber Alert was issued.

"At approximately 4:40 p.m., police were contacted with information that the child had been left with a family member. Officers then had to confirm that this was, indeed, Storm Slippery," Regina police said in a statement.

Police had issued an Amber Alert because they believed Storm was abducted by her non-custodial father, Anthony Joseph Slippery.

Authorities were concerned because Slippery has a criminal history and outstanding arrest warrants for assault causing bodily harm.

Police spokeswoman Elizabeth Popowich said he was considered a "violent and dangerous person."

Popowich said police were called by Storm's mother at 10:42 a.m. Thursday. The mother told police she was forced to drive Storm and her father to a business in the city. When the mother went inside that business and called authorities, Slippery took off with the child.

Police said Slippery was taken into custody without incident.

"Charges are anticipated, pending the outcome of this investigation," said police.
