Winnipeg livestock market: Slaughter cattle count low but trading fully steady

WINNIPEG - Head count is relatively low this week, as butcher cows and bulls are steadily selling.

Feeder cattle isn't doing as well on the market due to a lack in both quality and volume, therefore prices are slightly lower.

Total head count 136.

Slaughter cattle 85; D1-D2 cows: $65-$74 per cwt; D3-D5 cows: $67-$72; good bulls: $92-$98; feeder cows; $75-$85.

Feeder cattle 51; Steers: 900-1,000 lbs. $107-$134 per cwt; 800-900 lbs. $125-$142 700-800 lbs. $135-$147; 600-700 lbs. $150-$163; 500-600 lbs. $150-$165; 400-500 lbs. $155-$175.

Heifers: 800-900 lbs. $115-$127 per cwt; 700-800 lbs. $120-$135 per cwt; 600-700 lbs. $132-$145; 500-600 lbs. $130-$145; 400-500 lbs. $135-$155.
