MONTREAL - All four of Montreal's subway lines were shut down for close to an hour this morning following computer problems.

Service was interrupted throughout the system at around 10 a.m., leaving thousands of commuters stranded.

Additional bus service was added between subway stations.

The system was back up and running about an hour later.

Montreal's transit authority blamed the problems on the subway's computer system.
