Italian medal hopeful Tania Cagnotto cut slightly in diving mishap

BOLZANO, Italy - Italian medal hopeful Tania Cagnotto has injured herself slightly in a mishap on the diving board in her final training session before flying to the London Olympics.

Cagnotto slipped in training Sunday at her home pool, brushing the board slightly as she fell into the water. The slip produced an abrasion on her right leg and a bruise near her groin.

She says on Twitter "I just have a scratch. These are things that happen."

Cagnotto will compete in 3-meter individual and 3-meter synchro with Francesca Dallape.

In March 2011, Cagnotto was involved in an accident on her scooter and had to have surgery on her left hand.
