RCMP to live trap feral dogs in western Newfoundland

PORT AU PORT, N.L. - A sheep farmer on the west coast of Newfoundland says wild dogs are killing off his flock.

Glenn Hinks of Port au Port says he lost 31 lambs and six ewes last summer — and the toll continues to climb this year.

RCMP say they will be live-trapping the animals.

Police say they've received several other complaints about feral dogs attacking pets.

Hinks says the dogs have been a problem for years.

He says he's frustrated that it's taken so long for authorities to do something.
