Special Olympics Youth Programs are designed for youth with intellectual/developmental disabilities and their families. Individuals with an intellectual disability may display deficits in general cognitive abilities which limit performance in one or more aspects of daily life such as communication, social participation, functioning at school, or personal independence. Individuals may be diagnosed with Autism, PDD-NOS, Down Syndrome, FASD, ADD, ADHD, Seizure Disorder, Blind, Deaf, Acquired Brain Injury, or undiagnosed deficits in cognitive functioning or communications.
