The Yorkton Film Festival has announced the first film in the continuation of its 2014-2015 Open Cinema series.
The festival will screen Still Rowdy After All These Years on February 3 at the Yorkton Public Library. Discussion will follow.
The documentary about the life of Gordon Pinsent was the first installment of Bravo’s Great Canadian Bios series back in January 2011.
Although Pinsent may not have broken out much internationally until Sarah Polley’s 2006 sensation Away From Her, his has been a household name in Canada for decades. And he is no stranger to Yorkton having visited several times for the Yorkton Film Festivals main event.
Everyone is welcome for the free screening. They even serve popcorn.
This year’s Festival and Golden Sheaf Awards are scheduled for May 21-24.
