Residents attend garden party

Eight Dubucites attended the "Growing Hope Foundation" Garden Party at Moose Bay Greenhouses on Saturday, June 26.The foundation was developed by Judy (Bisch) Kraushner, owner of the greenhouses, to sponsor individuals that find themselves needing a little hope. The tea party included a beverage and choice of a wonderful gourmet of desserts. There were also raffles and door prizes plus a wide variety of plants on sale.100% of the monies raised during the garden party went towards funding the charity. The lucky door prize winner of the bronzed angel statue was Laurie Handke from Waldron.

Verone Charington and Verity Peterson were week-end guests with parents Alan & Betty Willway taking in the Legacy-Petruka wedding. They also dropped in at Earle and Nina Moller's and Mary Forsberg's to visit in between the wedding festivities.

Daphne Meunier and mom, Iris Groseth, of Estevan were in Yorkton Thurs., June 24 where they visited with Carrie Nicholson. They called in Dubuc on their way home to visit with Rodney Groseth, June Haas and Reid Hedstrom.

Congratulations to Nina and Earle Moller who have become great-grandparents, twice! Victor William Dawson Blake arrived on April 11 weighing 7 lbs. 7 oz. Congratulations to parents, Hali Yaremko and Jordon Blake of Victoria, BC and also to 1st time grandparents Heather and Jeff Moller/Beck of London, Ontario. Molly Paloma Maga joined the family on April 26 weighing in at 9 lbs. 1/2 oz.Best wishes to parents Katy & Scott Maga of Campbell River, BC and again to 1st time grandparents Sherry and Al Moller/Chatigny, Maple Ridge, BC. Earle and Nina are proudly showing off pictures for now but can't wait to meet the babies in person.

Best wishes from the community go to Sienna Louise Marie Legacy, daughter of Donna (Allan) and Al, and Cameron William Petruka, son of Donald Petruka, who were married June 26, 2010in the Dubuc Worship Centre under the auspices of the United Church of Canada. Rev. Sue Manning of Melville officiated and Brenda Legare, the groom's aunt, was organist.Sienna's brother, Tyson was groomsman.The reception and dance followed in the Dubuc Memorial Hall.

Best wishes for happy, healthy, wealthy futures go to Dubuc students graduating from Esterhazy Central High School at the June 30 ceremonies: Ryeli Henry, son of Ron and Candy; Colton Kaczur, son of Bernie and Wayne; and Shirelle McAlpine, daughter of Rhonda and John Haubrich.Jared and Twyla Wilson and daughter Sierra of Saskatoon visited with mom, Gayla (Nelson/Wilson) and John Hedstrom on the June 26 weekend.

Sharon Clark has three of her granddaughters spending summer holidays enjoying our small town versus city living:Desiree, Tierra, and Destiny, daughters of Vincent Clark and Crystal Clark, from Saskatoon.

Sarah andJohn Friesen of Lethbridge, Ab stopped overnight with grandparents Len & Gladys Simleon June 25 on their way to Morden to visither parents Marion andBill Harder.

Welcome back to Dubuc to Maureen and Dennis Toth who have purchased the Allan and Lois Schick trailer home on Noel Street. Dennis and Maureen resided in Dubuc in the70's & 80's and were involved in activitiesat the hall and rink.They also belonged to the Snowmobile Club of that era and, in fact,took an active part in all community happenings. They will be doing some reno's/work on their new home before moving in permanently later this year.

Billy Topliss of Edmonton visited relatives while staying as a guestwith his niece, Murray and Irene (Topliss)Bawden.He took in coffee row at the Hut on July 3.

Raeleen Giles and sons, Drew and Ashton, of Calgary were home visiting with her parents, John and Bernice Kaczur. They all spent a few days camping at Sunset Beach, Crooked Lake.

Garland and Elise Thiele were in Yorkton, Thursday to Sunday. working with the flood victims after the July 1st storm that dropped over 6 inches of rain. They opened their church doors and several of the hotel rooms in the old Corona MotorHotel, now operated by SIGN, to aid the people displaced from their homes.

Norman Keith and a friend from Vancouver, BC stayed in the Dubuc Hotel for a couple of days while renewing acquaintances and visiting some family members in the area. Norman was married in the Dubuc United Church (now the DubucWorship Centre) to Norma Nicholson, the oldest daughter of Sandra and Norman. They drove to Langenburg to visit sister-in-law, Doreen Edwards, who is a patient in the care home there.

The DRA news committee for gathering items to report to the papers and compiling the columnare: Sharon Clark,Joan Wilson, Renee Nagy, Vivian Talbot, andat the hut, Audrey & Leona will take any items you want to hand in.Please give any one of us the scoop if you have visitors, engagements, weddings, birth announcements, meeting minutes or any other news of interest.The DRA needs funds to keep the heat on in the hall this winter and thiswill pay amonth's power and energy if we get enough news.Thank-you in advance for all your help.

Jayme Markwart, daughter of Dayna and Pat, from Reginais staying with her grandparents, Jim and Vivian Talbot, fora holiday. Cousin, Riley Talbot, and Jayme spent the week-end camping at Cedar Cove, Moose Bay, Crooked Lake with their grandparents.Tyla (Kulcsar) and Steve Young and daughters, Tatum, and her twin sisters,Kaebree and Kienna, of Prince Albert, are camping at the resort for the month of July, also.
