Doug Morley has returned from a 2 week vacation at Donna, Texas. He visited at South Padre Island, Kingsville, and Corpus Christi with family and friends. He came home to coffee row with real estate pamphlets and a few vehicle ads to share with everyone. Their real estate market is depressed compared to ours but the property taxes were still right up there! It all made for good conversation and coffee row was over before we knew it.

Congratulations to Hali Yaremko and Jordan Blake who were married during an outdoor ceremony at Cattle Point, Victoria Island, BC on March 20. Hali is the daughter of Heather (Jeff) Moller Beck of London, ON and Ron (Suzette) Yaremko of Yorkton and granddaughter of Earle and Nina Moller.

Sharon Clark was in Selkirk, MB on the weekend of March 19 to visit with her sister, Velma and Ernie Perkins and help Velma celebrate her 65th birthday. They did some sightseeing around Winnipeg including the Paddlewheel historic site. Sharon enjoyed the history, but was not so happy with the gas station billboards advertising gas for 6 cents less a litre than we pay here in Sask. Joan Wilson chauffeured Sharon to and from the bus at Whitewood - luckily in between the snow and icy highways that have been plaguing us lately.

Marv Horachek, the mayor of our little village, had a birthday celebration at coffee row on Tues., Mar 22 when he treated 18 people to coffee and his favorite cake - Puffed Wheat! We heard through the grapevine that you were welcomed to a new decadeThanks for the cuppa - may you be around to buy us coffee for many more years.

The monthly community birthday party started with an afternoon of visiting and cards. As more hungry souls showed up, Audrey Nielsen and Leona Kaczur served up waffles and sausages for a "shrove Tuesday" supper on a "Wednesday" evening, March 23. A dessert of Angel Food birthday cake and lemon/cream topping rounded of the meal. Approximately 20 persons thoroughly enjoyed supper including Marv Horachek, Sharon Clark, Nina Moller, Mary Nagy, Joe Kaczur and Ron McAlpine who are all March "babies". Here's wishing you all good health and happiness in the year ahead.

Congratulations to Betsy (Fowler) Bawden and Kevin Lutz who were recently married during a small private ceremony in Yorkton. Best wishes from all your Dubuc family and friends.

Welcome to Mackenzie Catherine Wilson born to Dave Wilson and Colette Fifi of Saskatoon on March 20, 2011. Dave is the son of Gayla (John) Hedstrom, Dubuc and grandson of Pearl and Gordon Nelson, Esterhazy. Gayla motored to Saskatoon on Saturday to meet her new granddaughter. Pink bootie congratulations to Mackenzie's parents, grandparents and great-grandparents.

Sympathy of Dubuc family and friends go out to Denise (Banga) and Ronald Topliss, Ashley and Cole of Saskatoon on the March 26 passing of Denise's brother, Reg Banga, also of Saskatoon. Condolences also to his parents, Dorothy & Joe Banga of Stockholm and all his extended Banga relatives on the loss of a beloved family member. Funeral services were held in Stockholm on Friday, April 1, 2011.

Welcome home to the snowbirds, Alan and Betty Willway, who have been wintering at their property located in Palm Shadows Park at Donna, Texas since December and just returned this past week. They reported having spent a happy, healthy, busy, and "warm" winter with all their friends in the retirement RV community.
