Another group of recruits is at Parkland College in Melville for the NFPA 1001 Professional Firefighting program this fall. Through the end of October, the students are learning the ins and outs of firefighting at the Melville fire hall and at Parkland College’s expanded Emergency Services Training Site just east of the city. Through a partnership with Lakeland College of Vermilion, AB, Parkland College is proud to offer the only full-time professional firefighting training program in Saskatchewan.
