History Corner - Mac’s Garage burned January 3, 1973

The original building was constructed in 1904. Apparently, it served as a theatre — a short lived business. One of the early owners was Harry J. Macdonald who enlarged the building and used it as a garage.

The original building was constructed in 1904. Apparently, it served as a theatre — a short lived business. One of the early owners was Harry J. Macdonald who enlarged the building and used it as a garage. The building was owned by Otto Yachel at time of the fire. Estimated damage totalled $65,000.00. Photo and information obtained from a fire-hall album entitled Yorkton Fire Dept History.  The address was #83 Broadway Street East, between 5th and 6th Avenue North.
