Kamsack RCMP officer facing impaired driving charges

In the early morning hours of Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017, RCMP Canora members responded to a complaint of an erratic driver in the community of Canora. The incident has resulted in charges being laid against a serving member of Kamsack detachment.

Sgt. Terence Wilson of Kamsack RCMP is charged with:

• Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle – sec. 253 (1)(a) CC

• Impaired Operation over .08 – sec. 253 (1)(b) CC

Sgt. Wilson was not on-duty at the time of the incident.

Sgt. Wilson has 20 years of service with the RCMP. His next court appearance is scheduled for March 2, 2017. Wilson has been suspended with pay and an RCMP Code of Conduct investigation has been ordered.
