The Parkland Writers Alliance celebrated local authors for their short stories this past November at the Yorkton Public Library.

The Pen to Page writing contest concluded on Nov. 8. The competition required participants to submit short stories of 1000 words or less. The Parkland Writers Alliance received several submissions.

Three winners were crowned at the library in November. Sean Mott came in first place for “The Last Word,” Jeffrey Stephaniuk was the runner-up for “State of Grace,” and Audrey Maloney-Vangen came in third place for writing “Great Saskatchewan Skies.”

Mott and Maloney-Vangen read their stories for the assembled crowd.

Sheena Brown, Dan Badowich, and Meagan Richards served as the judges for the competition.
