Man killed in motorcycle accident

On September 9, 2011 at approximately 5:30 pm, RCMP attended a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident in the Melville area on Highway 9 near Yorkton approximately 5 km north of Highway 15.

On September 9, 2011 at approximately 5:30 pm, RCMP attended a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident in the Melville area on Highway 9 near Yorkton approximately 5 km north of Highway 15.

The collision involved a northbound motorcycle driven by a 50-year-old male from rural Saskatchewan and a truck driven by an 81-year-old female driver from Yorkton. The male driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene and the female driver of the truck received minor injuries.

Highway 9 was closed for approximately six hours while the accident was under investigation. The name of the deceased and his specific home community have not been released.

Tourist missing

Kamsack RCMP are seeking the public's assistance in locating missing tourist Santos Nunez from the Dominican Republic.

Nunez is 50 yrs of age and is described as 6'1" and 200 lbs.

Nunez became separated from other persons he was with on the evening of September 11, 2011 while in a rural area approximately 8 km northeast of Arran, Saskatchewan. Arran is located 90 km northeast of Yorkton. He speaks limited English and there is concern for his health as he may have become disoriented.
