Sunrise Health Region is pleased to welcome a new physician to our region. Dr. Seema Ahmed will begin practice on July 25, 2016 as a General Practitioner in Canora. Dr. Ahmed is joining the primary health care team at the Canora Health and Wellness Centre in the Canora Hospital.
“This is great news for the community of Canora and surrounding areas,” says Director of Integrated Primary Health, Jacquie Holzmann. “We are very excited to have Dr. Ahmed working alongside the Canora health care team providing quality health services for residents.”
The addition of Dr. Ahmed brings the Canora Health and Wellness Centre up to a full complement of five providers. Providers at the centre include Dr. Obiora, Dr. Afshari, Dr. Jafarian and Nurse Practitioner Lorri Dennis.
Residents in Canora and surrounding area are encouraged to seek a regular family physician to meet their health needs. A very important part of health care is establishing a consistent relationship with a health provider.
“Having a health provider dedicated to your health care needs provides consistency in care and allows the provider to better understand your entire health picture,” adds Holzmann. “It is important in taking care of yourself to have a constant care provider to get to know you and your unique situation. Everyone benefits when solid relationships equate to an ability to better meet health care needs.”
Currently, all physicians in Canora are accepting new patients. Residents can call to book appointments and request a family physician at the Canora Health and Wellness Centre at 306-563-5557.
