The City held a flag raising ceremony June 1 to kick off Recreation and Parks Month. Mayor Bob Maloney said the Community Development Parks and Recreation department has several special activities planned for the month including the grand opening of the off-leash dog park June 7, park parties at Drake Field June 17 and Heritage Heights Park June 24. The department also wants to raise awareness of its S-CAPE program and the Yorkton in Bloom competition.
