Snowarama 2015 holds kicks-off

The 38th Annual Easter Seals Snowarama will be held Feb 7, 2015 in Yorkton.

The annual event raises funds to help youth attend Camp Easter Seal each summer, youth like second event ambassador Brooke Perepeluk.

As the only completely wheelchair accessible camp facility in Saskatchewan, Camp Easter Seal is dedicated to providing a fun and barrier free experience to all campers.

The long running Snowarama event, which has raised some $1.7 million since its inception, held its official kick-off at the Yorkton Co-op Agro Centre Monday.

At the press conference it was detailed the annual event will hold a social at the Gallagher Centre the evening of Feb. 6, with the actual ride heading out at 10 a.m. the 7th, heading to Good Spirit Lake where lunch will be held.

Riders will then head back to Yorkton, where the banquet and awards night will be held.

Riders may use one of two groomed, marked trails (98 and 170 kms).

Snowarama is a family-oriented trail ride fundraiser, but there are a few rules riders must follow.

A minimum of $150 in pledges required to ride.

Riders must be a minimum 12 years of age with a guardian.

And, snowmobiles must be licensed.
