Andy was born on a homestead in the Birch Creek District N.E. of Wishart. Andy farmed most of his life including operating a dairy farm.  Andy was also employed on the CP Rail, as a hard rock (gold, copper and silver) miner, then finally as a potash miner. Andy was an adventuristic man who loved to try new things and traveled throughout western Canada. His opportunities of employment led him from Ontario to BC to the Arctic Circle with more adventures and travel. His hobbies included gold panning and salmon fishing in northern BC. Andy loved to fish, camp, cook, read, garden and play cards into the late hours. Andy also enjoyed sports and he played baseball, hockey and then bowling later in life. Andy was a talented musician and he taught himself first on the piano, then the guitar, fiddle, banjo and mandolin. He was talented enough to play in a band for local dances and weddings. Andy made many long-lasting friendships, he loved to tease, laugh and joke. Andy was in no rush to get through life and he enjoyed each and every moment of the day. Andy was a simple man, he lived a simple life, he never needed much and he never worried. Andy enjoyed life for what it was. The only possessions he cherished was time with his family and friends. The family would like to thank all those who accepted Andy in their lives. The Saskatoon Cancer Clinic, oncology, respiratory, nurses and social workers. Yorkton Hospital doctors and staff. St. Joseph Ukrainian Catholic Home sisters and nursing staff. Thank you to Tompkins Funeral Home and Father Jeffrey.
