FANDREY - Clare & Lois. Clare and Lois (nee Pearce) Fandrey died tragically on July 20, 2017. Clare was born in Ebenezer, SK on May 19, 1937 and Lois in Yorkton, SK on October 13, 1938. They were married on July 23, 1960. Clare and Lois were predeceased by their parents Robert and Georgina Fandrey and Philip and Evelyn Pearce; their siblings - Shirley Beck, George Pearce, Margaret Mody, Audrey Morgan and Vance Fandrey and their beloved son, Duane. They are survived by their daughter Sheri Fandrey and son-in-law, Ian Smith; granddaughter, Mary Fandrey; daughter-in-law, Laurie Ellen Fandrey; grandson, Porter Heffernan; sisters, Jean Flewwelling, Merla Atkinson, Lorraine Pearce along with dearly loved extended family. Clare and Lois' married life was defined by their unshakeable bond, supporting each other through all the joys and sorrows of their lives. Their love for Duane and Sheri was truly unconditional, their support for their children absolute. They had room in their expansive hearts for additional "children by choice" - Bonny and Randy, "brother and sister by choice" - Terry and Annette and "grandchildren by choice" - Grayson and Jayce. Clare taught high school sciences to generations of students in Langenburg. Teaching was a calling and he excelled in his efforts to impart the wonders of chemistry, physics and life to his students. He was also the high school football coach for many years, forming lifelong bonds of friendship with countless Langenburg Eagles alumni. Lois worked at the Toronto Dominion Bank in Langenburg early in their marriage, leaving shortly before the arrival of their son Duane. Throughout her life Lois employed her organizational and financial experience as both a volunteer with many community efforts and as a partner in their business CF VideoComp. Community was integral for both Lois and Clare. Each of them volunteered their abundant talents and energy to a variety of community efforts, including the swimming pool committee, the school band programs, various sports teams, their church and community theatre fundraising. Music was an important part of their lives. While at university in Saskatoon, Clare played in a number of popular dance bands, which he continued after their move to Langenburg in 1960. Clare became a champion of Barbershop singing in Langenburg and Russell, directing the chorus for decades, singing in a quartet and organizing annual Barbershop Shows. In later years, Clare's vast musical talents were directed towards Prairie Blend, a gospel quartet. Lois was always his most enthusiastic fan, contributing many hours behind the scenes to ensure the success of countless musical endeavours. Lois was lovingly known as the family historian, keeping important dates, events and memories of four generations of family prominent in all of our minds. Her incomparable powers of memory were indicative of her vast capacity for loyalty and love. Lois was widely known for her cheerful and optimistic outlook on life. She brought joy to many with her bright smile and cheery wave. Clare was renowned for his ability to take on and master virtually any task. Once attained, his mastery was generously shared with others. The untimely deaths of Clare and Lois will be deeply felt by family, friends and community. A Service to Celebrate their lives will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Langenburg Central School Gymnasium, Langenburg, SK. A private family cremation committal in the Langenburg Cemetery will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity or cause that has meaning for you.
