Mr. Walter Polowick of Yorkton and formerly of the Insinger district, fell asleep in the Lord on September 26, 2013 at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina, at the age of 77 years.

Mr. Walter Polowick of Yorkton and formerly of the Insinger district, fell asleep in the Lord on September 26, 2013 at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina, at the age of 77 years. Walter was born November 24, 1935, a son of John and Irene Polowick, he was raised on the family farm in the Insinger area and attended Yemen School and Foam Lake Composite High School. In July of 1954 he joined the Canadian Navy and served for five years. In July 1959, after his honourable discharge he made his home in Winnipeg until October 31, 1998, when he moved to Yorkton, SK to be with his mother who had fallen and needed help. He also looked after the yard and house till July of 2005, when his mother passed away and he continued living in the house till his passing. In his younger years, Walter liked to spend time in his cabin and take a few car trips during his holidays, he also enjoyed reading, dancing and doing word puzzles. Walter is predeceased by his parents, two sisters and a brother. He leaves to celebrate his life, his sister Elaine Polowick of Brampton, ON, as well as many cousins and relatives. Walter was cremated and is interred at the St. John Suchawa Church Cemetery in the Insinger district. Thanks to Rodney Denesik and Tony Prokop for their help and support, as well as other people who stood by Walter. Memorials honoring Walter's life may be made to St. John Suchawa Cemetery Fund as gifts of remembrance.
