Jordis Astrid Temple was born on July 27, 1916 on the family farm near Ketchen, SK; a daughter of Kaia (nee Fylling) & Christian Fagervold. She was raised on the family farm and received her education at North Prairie School.

Jordis Astrid Temple was born on July 27, 1916 on the family farm near Ketchen, SK; a daughter of Kaia (nee Fylling) & Christian Fagervold. She was raised on the family farm and received her education at North Prairie School. As a young woman, Jordis ventured to Yorkton and worked as a waitress on Broadway St. It was here that she met Adolph Temple and the couple were married in Regina and shortly after moved to Kitchener, ON. Adolph worked for the Uniroyal Tire Company and Jordis did waitress work and was also employed at factories in the area. Upon their retirement, the couple returned to Saskatchewan, settling in Yorkton. Adolph predeceased Jordis on February 26, 2006. Her hobbies included music, dancing and cooking up great meals for her family. With assistance from her son Gary, Jordis was able to maintain her complete independence right up until the time of her passing on Monday, December 29, 2014 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre following a very brief illness. She was 98 years of age. Besides her husband Adolph, she was predeceased by a brother Vernon in infancy and by brothers Rudy, Leroy and Curtis Fagervold. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Gary of Yorkton; a sister-in-law, Grace Frazer of Palm Beach, FL; a brother-in-law, Murray Temple of Windsor, ON and by numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held on Monday, January 5, 2015 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Rev. Jen Dresser of St. Andrew's United Church officiating. The hymns were 'On Eagles Wings' and 'Whispering Hope'. The interment took place in the Garden of Memories with son Gary as the urn bearer.
