Sidewalk concerns

Dear Editor, Ahh, the snow is here! It’s that time of the year when snowmen will be built, children will be sliding in their toboggans and the Terriers will work towards obtaining another championship.

Dear Editor,

Ahh, the snow is here! It’s that time of the year when snowmen will be built, children will be sliding in their toboggans and the Terriers will work towards obtaining another championship. It’s also that time of the year when Yorkton pedestrians risk life and limb walking on Yorkton’s busy streets instead walking safely on the sidewalks. Why are the pedestrians walking on the snowy roads? Where else can they walk? Most of Yorkton’s sidewalks are covered with packed snow and ice, put there by an outdated snow removal policy! Yorkton’s sidewalks are neglected.

The City of Yorkton has to revise its’ snow removal policy before a pedestrian is run over or before a pedestrian is seriously injured from a slip and fall. Yorkton’s streets are for cars not pedestrians!
