From Dec. 2-4, the Yorkton Atom A hockey teams hosted a tournament at home. Games were split between the Farrell Agencies Arena and the Yorkton Kinsmen Arena.
There were 12 teams in total, and four from Yorkton – the Yorkton Richardson Atom Terriers, Yorkton Western Financial Atom Terriers, Yorkton Deneschuk Homes Atom Terriers and Yorkton UCT Atom Terriers.
Prince Albert came away from the tournament with the A group final – losing to the UCT Terriers in the final game.
The B final was played between Foam Lake and Muenster, and the C final was played between Richardson and the Western Financial Terriers.
There were eight people on the committee for the tournament. Karen Michaelchuk was the treasurer for the tournament.
“It was a success, and it was smooth,” she said after the tournament. “The tournament was organized by a group of eight amazing hockey moms, who went above and beyond to make sure all details were taken care of.”
