4-H curling bonspiel in Yorkton

The Hilltop 4-H Club held their District 12 4-H curling bonspiel this past weekend in Yorkton. A total of nine teams took part in the bonspiel – four junior teams and five senior teams.

The Hilltop 4-H Club held their District 12 4-H curling bonspiel this past weekend in Yorkton.

A total of nine teams took part in the bonspiel – four junior teams and five senior teams. They faced off at the Yorkton Curling Club on Sunday, in hopes of taking the top spot. The winners of the junior and senior division are now eligible to play in the regional 4-H curling bonspiel, occurring Jan. 21-23 in Kelliher.

In the junior division, the Hilltop 4-H Club team took the top spot. The members of the team are Connor Bauer, Emily Yanish, Hudson Chesney and Hunter Chesney. The second place team was Springside 4-H Beef, consisting of Kylee Hamilton, Layden Omiecinski, Ana O’Neill, Alia O’Neill and Cole Marcinkowski.

In the senior division, the first place team was on of the Springside 4-H Beef teams, which consisted of Hayden Berrns, Jase Hasen, Matthew Just, Matthew Zalys-Smeretsky and coached by Derek Berrns. The second place team was the other Springside 4-H Beef team which consisted of Grace Medvid, Mckenna Omiecinski, Emma Just and Jilian Just, and coached by Kristina Just.
