Yorkton Dodge is the latest partner to join the growing list involved with the sport of disc golf in the region.

The local dealership will sponsor the ‘Best Drive of the Day’ at each event with the Parkland Association of Disc Golf Tournament series in 2017.

“Having Yorkton Dodge as our newest sponsor is a great step for the PADG and disc golf,” said Association president Calvin Daniels.

“The ‘Best Drive’ is always a popular element of a tournament, and to have a sponsor come on board to provide a prize at each event is something tournament participants should be very happy with.”

Doug Arnett, dealer principal with Yorkton Dodge said he was happy to support an organization which is showing great growth in promoting a new sport in the region.

“When we were approached and heard the story of how many courses have been established in the local region in the last couple of years we were eager to become involved,” he said.

“Dodge products are already known as being the best drives by our customers, so the sponsorship was a natural.”

Daniels explained that at each stop on the tournament series a particular basket will be designated for the ‘Best Drive’ with the player throwing the longest drive from the tee receiving a prize.

“It’s just an added feature for our players to pursue,” he said.

But, there is more with the Yorkton Dodge partnership too.

The top finishers among PADG members participating at tournaments in the series this summer will be invited to partake in the Farrell Agencies Champions’ Challenge to be held Oct. 15, and they will have a chance to drive home a car.

“Yorkton Dodge will be providing a car for an ace on a particular basket, and that will have participants shooting for one of the best prizes offered in the province for disc golf,” said Daniels. “The PADG is just thrilled Yorkton Dodge offered to support our efforts in this way.”

Arnett said they have offered a similar prize at ball golf events in the past.

“So we thought it would be a great incentive for the best disc golfers at their premier event of the season,” he said.
